Is there anything better than a freshly picked strawberry?  While on vacation, we decded to spend a couple of hours picking hydrponically grown strawberries.  There were hundreds of plants hanging all over with berries in every stage of growth.

You are given a bucket and a pair of scissors and off you go in seach of bright, red, ripe berries.

No dirt, no bending.... just fabulous!!

I have to say, they have been delicious!

We're debating going back to pick more..... but also want to indulge in the oranges and grapefruit!

Gearing up for a New Year!

Essence of ChristmasIt's hard to believe that another year has just flown right by us!  It seems like only yesterday that I was taking Holiday portraits and printing 2009 calendars.

My resolution for 2010 is to commit to my own blog.  I spend so much of my spare time (does that really exist?) surfing around everyone else's musings that I thought it was time to contribute my own ramblings to the mix.  I plan on chatting about my work, my life, my friends and anything else which pops up along the way.

I hope you enjoy and come back often for a "visit".

To try to get into the Holiday spirit last night, I went out an purchased a new poinsettia (which I am guaranteed to kill within 3 weeks) to liven up my dining room.  I couldn't resist taking a few frames to preserve it's elegant beauty.

PoinsettiaThere is something which just makes me smile about these gorgeous red leaves.  Every year I head out and purchase at least one with the intention of keeping it a whole year to see if the leaves will transform themselves in time for Christmas.  It hasn't happened yet..... but you never know...this might just be the year!

Have a lovely weekend everyone one!

If you're out and about celebrating... please remember not to drink and drive... it's just not worth it.
